The following is a list of the changes that we have taken to ensure the safety of our staff as well as the safety of our patients.
We are following the requirements outlined by the CDSBC, WorkSafeBC and the BC CDC.
When someone from my office contacts you to discuss an upcoming surgery date, they will ask you a series of COVID-19 screening questions. These questions will be repeated when you arrive to our office on the day of your appointment.
When you arrive to our office, you will be greeted at the door in order to take your temperature before being allowed in. Temperatures of all AFD staff AND visiting staff (your dental office) are taken at the beginning of the day as well.
Only one parent/guardian will be allowed with a child patient in the office. For adult patients, all escorts must wait in their car until the patient is ready to be discharged.
Please call us once you park your car to let us know you have arrived. PLEASE stay in your car until we call you to come up.
All toys and books have been removed from our waiting area as these items are hard to clean.
In order to maintain social distancing, only 3 people allowed in the waiting room at a time.
As seen in the video below, we are all wearing enhanced personal protective equipment (PPE). There is a proper procedure to follow in putting on (donning) and removing all the equipment (doffing) to prevent cross contamination.
The operatories where the surgeries take place are disinfected, top to bottom to ensure we are minimizing any risk of exposure to you or to us.
Please understand this takes time and we do not want to rush these steps.
and we do NOT charge a booking fee.
We understand these are stressful times for everyone. We appreciate your understanding and patience while we navigate this pandemic in order to provide the oral health care you or your child requires.
NOTE: Abusive language or threatening behaviour towards our staff will not be tolerated. If you are deemed to be behaving inappropriately you will be asked to leave the premises and reported to the police.
